Clemmons Community Day

This past Saturday we were a part of The First "Clemmons Community Day." It was a fun-filled family event, with games and activities for children; fire trucks; a fire and safety center with fingerprinting, crime and fire prevention information; the Forsyth Broncos sponsored a "Cruise-In" car and bike show; and also the Humane Society held an adoption fair. In addition there was performances throughout the day from area talent, bands and school choirs. Over 40 local area businesses were featured also. We had a wonderful time celebrating where we live, work and play!

And The Winner Is...

Congrats to the Varoutsos Family! They were the winners in our People's Choice Award during the Portrait Gallery Exhibit at the Lewisville Soda Shoppe.
There were other portraits that were very close, but everyone was a winner according to Angie, the owner of the Soda Shoppe. She said that everyone really enjoyed the display.
The video gives you an idea of how much they value each other...This is yet another one of the reasons we LOVE what we do, because we get to know great folks like this family!

Easter Festival was a success...

This year's Easter Festival brought beautiful weather, a great turnout, hundreds of egg hunters and above all, a successful fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Rotary Foundation.

Viva PPNC

Recently, we attended our yearly spring convention with PPNC (Professional Photographers of North Carolina) This years theme was Viva PPNC- What happens in Durham, stays with you for a lifetime! The convention stayed true to its name. We came home with a lot of new ideas and plans. We studied under award winning photographers from around the country. We also had great fellowship with wonderful photographers and friends from around North Carolina. Also, Anne was sworn in for a two year term as the Director of the Central Gild of PPNC. She is very excited about serving on a board that has helped our business be what it is today!

"All About You" Event ~Make Time For YOU!

"All About You" is exactly what you need...an evening of relaxing with friends and being pampered, all for a great cause! All of the proceeds for this event go for support and research to find the cause and a cure for ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

As you enter the room at the historic Broyhill Conference Center on Thursday March 25 you will see a number of offerings: hairstyling, make up application, a portrait session (with a free Facebook Profile Pic by Anne Grant Photography), nail care,  massage, wine tasting, boutique shopping, interior design classes, food sampling and SO much more! We will all be there to take care of you from 4 PM-8PM. The first 50 people to arrive will receive a goodie bag full of items from the vendors. If you can't get there early enough for that, we will have tickets for sale so you can take your chance in the raffle of nice gifts from the vendors and other local businesses.

More Easter Fun At The Lewisville Easter Festival

The 2nd Annual Lewisville Easter Festival is more than just an Easter Egg Hunt! There are games, face painting, clowns, balloon animals, vendors, karate demonstrations, fire trucks to climb in,and LOTS of yummy food!

This is one of the community service projects that  Rotary Club of Western Forsyth does along with the help of many other volunteers. All the proceeds go to Make A Wish Foundation, giving hope, strength and joy to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

As I hear more about it at the Rotary meetings, I'll let you know!

The Voice of Portraits

We  have always operated our studio with the idea of ministering to others at every opportunity. This week our outreach has extended to sharing the emotional value of portraits with a presentation to the Rotary Club of Western Forsyth and on WDSL AM's morning radio program. 

But the icing on the Valentine cupcake was our visit to Davie County Senior Services this afternoon. Several months ago , they booked us as the speaker for their Valentine's Day Party.  Now, we love all seniors...from the vibrant, creative High School Seniors to the wiser, mature Senior Citizens. I also love to to talk (especially about photography) so we planned on taking our presentation, "A 1000 Words~Photography That Speaks To The Heart" to a dozen or so senior citizens, probably seated in folding chairs.  
Were we ever surprised when we arrived at their  beautiful facility and saw the room filling up with over 125 alert, active adults adorned in their finest red sweaters, vests, and jackets for their Valentine's party! Not only did they have the most modern amenities including an excellent AV system, a kitchen with a health inspection score of 102, an exercise room and more, they also had an events calendar that would make your head spin! There were art classes, woodworking, movie night, Tai Chi, scrapbooking, field trips, several clubs and other classes...whew! I LOVE what I do, but I'm looking forward to my golden years,  when I'll actually have time to participate!         -Anne

This exhibit will showcase some of our best images and we’d like to include you!
The Portrait Gallery Exhibit will be on display March 5-April 1, 2010 at the Lewisville Soda Shoppe located at 6750 Shallowford Rd in Lewisville at The Oaks Shopping Center.
