Children of all ages...

and the sweet babies...

Another Senior...

And High School Seniors...

They are all given the "Rock Star" treatment at Anne Grant ~ The Village Photographer!

We love doing family portraits...

It's been a while...

I guess I'll have to confess...I'm not a very good blogger! I think they are supposed to be a daily or at the very least, a weekly journal, but we have been having so much fun going from beach sessions right into Family Portrait Month.

Beach Portraits

We are in full swing with the Beach Portrait Sessions. Here are a few from one of our outings. The lighting, the "props"...it's all there at the beach!

Class Of 2007

Now is the best time for the Class of 2007 to have their senior portraits done! You know how busy it is after school starts...classes, after school activities, jobs, football games... So schedule your senior portraits now so we will be able to suit your schedule best. This is such an important time in your life and you want to have have the best photos possible to remember these moments.

New Addition To Portrait Park

We are completing a new area in our portrait park with stone walls and a cobblestone courtyard.
Emma has been coming to the studio since she was a baby and is quite a lovely little lady now. She is shown here in front of the stone walls her daddy made for us. If you need any stone work done, let me know and I'll give you his name... because he is the best!
It is actually a large area, not like some of the smaller settings we have as "props". Although we aren't showing much of the scenery in these images, you can see how it will give your portrait a beautiful, natural look- enhancing, but not overpowering the subjects.

We have a Billboard!

Well, it's not really for our studio, but it does have a portrait of one our beautiful mothers and her baby to illustrate how precious life is.
Salem Pregnancy CareCenter asked if I had any images that would work well for a billboard project they were planning. Their web site states "we can offer support if pregnancy at this time seems overwhelming. You do not have to manage your situation alone. The caring women at SPCC can assist you in getting factual information on all your options and in working through your circumstances."
I was honored to have one of my photos used for this group.
There are two that are currently up and will be up until May 9th (one is a stock image of a mother and baby's hand and not one of my images). One is at Northwest Boulevard and Rondell Street, and the other is at the Liberty Street/Highway 52 Overpass.
Let me know if you see it when you are out and about!

Posting Photos

Well, I just learned that you have to use images that are on the hard drive of the computer you are using to view and post on the blog, not on a network from another computer!
If any of you have images you would like to post showing how you use photography as home decor, I'm sure it would help give ideas to others! Anything from snapshots you have taken to wall portraits.
I remember one of my client's homes had a small built in desk in their kitchen. She had a piece of glass cut to fit the top of the desk so she could slide photos under it. It showed a family history in a collage of little photos that she said always caught the attention of anyone that came to visit!
Photos and photographic portraits are the heart and soul of home decor! They tell so much about the people living there...

Images On Display At State Convention

At our Professional Photographers of NC convention held earlier this month, the professional photo lab that I use chose one of my images for their trade show booth. In their booth, they display about 7 or 8 30x40 portraits and have a few more samples and new products on the tables. They even had the owner and his wife's Harley motorcycles in the booth to attract more attention! Their display is very prominent since they are a huge sponsor for many of our state and local organizations.
The owner of the lab asked me at the end of last year if he could use one of my images for the 30x40 display. I was really honored that he would ask, since he has lots of talented photographers as his clients. He chose the high key image of the playful little boy.
Also, the photographic painting of the girl at the gate was printed by this same lab for me to submit in the Print Competition. I was so surprised to see they had printed it in a 30x40 for another spot in their display!

Thank You For Your Referrals!

Whenever you place any order with us we will create for you “one of a kind” business cards with an image from your session. The Anne Grant Photography website and phone number will be included on each card. When you give a card to someone and that person calls us...the first question we ask them is “How did you hear about us?” They will mention your name from the card. When that client commissions us for their portraits, we will send you a certificate for a complimentary 8x10 gift portrait (or any one smaller size) valued at $105 and can be redeemed at a future session with us. Your cards are custom made and your family and friends will love them!I know I can rely on you to talk about your experience here. You will be helping others capture their loved ones forever and helping us...thus everybody wins. This is our way of saying “thank you” for your business and your trust in us.
